Manchester Athenaeum Dramatic Society

What We Do

We are an established amateur dramatic society based in Chorlton, Manchester. We are a friendly and enthusiastic group committed to bringing interesting, engaging and entertaining theatre to the community.

We currently put on 3 productions a year, 2 full length plays in April and November and a one night show in February. Performances are at St. Werburgh’s Parish Hall, Chorlton M21 0UH.

Our rehearsal evenings are Tuesday and Thursday, 7.30 – 10 pm, and take place in a few venues around Chorlton. We rehearse on stage at St Werburghs in the week prior to performances.

We also hold open auditions throughout the year, and play reading/social evenings during the summer, to which all are welcome. Details of these events can be found in our News section, and also on our Facebook page. We always welcome new members, whether you are an actor, sound or lighting technician, backstage crew or front of house helper.
